Colon: Colon Cancer in Lynch Syndrome (HNPCC)

HNPCC (Lynch Syndrome)

A 49 year old woman with a distant history of breast cancer resected 19 years previously, presents with a palpable right lower quadrant mass and anemia. At surgery, 6.5cm adenocarcinoma involving the cecum and ileo-cecal valve was found. Cell block showed abnormal staining for MSH2 and MSH6 indicative of Lynch syndrome.
